Super Battle Mon

Super Battle Mon

Super Battle Mon are creatures that live in the natural environment. They have amazing abilities and inhabit the world around us.

There are many species, sub-species, and breeds of Super Battle Mon. Some are found only regionally and others across the globe.

In your journeys, you'll no doubt encounter many different Super Battle Mon, both wild and domestic.

Glimmers

On your adventure you may run into unusually colored versions of your favorite Mon. They aren't limited to just one alt color either. Some Rangers are experts at collecting these rarer varieties.

Ultra Forms

In intense situations, some Super Battle Mon species are able to enter a powerful, upgraded state called an Ultra Form.

Ultra Forms usually only last 3 to 5 minutes and require a lot of energy for the Battle Mon to maintain.

Very skilled Rangers and Battle Masters are experts at using them at just the right time to turn the tide of battle.

Capturing Super Battle Mon

On your journeys you’ll make new Super Battle Mon friends and need to capture them. Stock up Flash cards to make the capture, store them in your case, and keep your active party ready to summon at any time in your Battledeck.

Catch them!

To catch a Super Battle Mon, you will first need to befriend or battle it. Once you're ready to attempt a capture, you'll need to use a Flashcard.

Flashcards are activated by pointing them at the Mon you want to catch and pressing the button, just like a point-and-click camera.

If successful, the Mon will be captured in your card. You can load it into your Battledeck to summon it on your journey.

If your capture fails, the card will disintegrate into ash and disperse in the wind. Because you can only have 11 cards loaded into your Deck Box for active use, others can be stored in a card carrying case or backpack.

Store them

As you build your collection of Super Battle Mon, you might want a carrying case to bring your Mon with you wherever you go.

You can also carry your unused Flashcards.

Battle them!

If you need to change out members of your team with newly caught Mon, you can do so at any time you have a chance to rest by swapping their cards into your Battle Deck.

Use these boxes to carry your creatures around. Each one holds 11 Mon at a time that you can toggle between. However, only 7 Mons can be active at a given time. Summoning a powerful Mon requires more energy and doing so may not allow you to summon all 7 of your Mon at once. This means you’ll need to carefully manage your team!

The People of Super Battle Mon

As you travel you’ll meet many colorful characters!

Rangers

Rangers are individuals who travel the world. They capture, battle, and help Super Battle Mon, both domestic and wild. They also have the responsibility to help people around the world.

Rangers travel in pairs. So, when Rangers are first about to start their adventure, their most important decision is choosing their first Ranger Partner and a Super Battle Mon.

Rangers carry their Ranger Badge to show they are here to help.

Battle Masters

Battle Masters are Rangers who have completed their journeys and have shown that they are experts at helping Super Battle Mon and citizens alike.

Battle Masters are each assigned to a city, group of towns, or sometimes a sector of a large city- all based on the need.

Each Battle Master has a team of Powerful Mon that they've trained with for years. They are there to mentor and test new Rangers on their journeys.

Emblems

Emblems are Special Ranger Badges carried by Battle Masters. Each is custom and designed to match the Battle Master’s personality, values, and Mon.

Battle Masters will give traveling Rangers one of their emblems when they prove themselves and earn it. To earn an emblem you must be an explorer Ranger and show your skills in both battle and in handling situations.

Ranger Badges

Ranger Badges act as an ID. They allow users access to Ranger Stations and enter tournaments. Make sure to take good care of it.

Travel

The Mezzanine Province is vast and full of different terrains. You'll need to travel using different means.

When you travel make sure to go with a partner for safety!

On Foot

Important places in Mezzanine are not that distant from each other, so Rangers travelling on foot is common. You can usually reach adjacent cities in half a day or far less. By exploring the world on foot, you’re less likely to miss running into wild Mon and unique places.

By Train

Railroads crisscross the province and connect all of its towns and cities. The lines are run by Expressmon who can get you from place to place at high speeds.

Riding

Some Super Battle Mon make perfect steeds. Depending on the Mon, you may be able to ride them on land, across water, or even while flying.

Guidebooks

Each province has its own guidebook. They contain maps and information on the Super Battle Mon, cities, and knowledge of the province. Having this information all in a physical book is the safest way to travel because so many ghosts are electromagnetic and haunt digital devices, making them prone to failure.

A World-Changing Event: The Aetheric Bedlam

Long ago, back when humans first began tinkering with the strange spark called electricity, before they had any real idea what it was, they accidentally cracked open a door, and just like Pandora’s Box, once it was opened it could not be closed.

As scientists invented the telegraph, they marveled at the way it sent words across great distances in an instant. But telegraphs didn’t just connect people; they connected realms. The second dots and dashes flew through wires, something ancient, restless, and malicious stirred.

Creatures of the electromagnetic realm had been waiting for such a moment. Before electricity, ghosts and specters could only rattle windows, whisper down hallways, or show up as an apparition in the corner of your eye if the conditions were just right. But now they had wires, circuits, and generators to wreak havoc upon. This ghostly invasion was given an infamous name: the Aetheric Bedlam.

Eventually people learned to tolerate these restless spirits living in parallel to them. Technology advanced, creeping into every pocket and every room, and ghosts followed. To this day, lights flicker, radios babble nonsense, and machines can hum without any electricity, a sure sign a ghost is in your midst.

Because of this, the only truly safe way to store information is the old-fashioned way: on paper. Ghosts can’t touch books. They cannot understand or inhabit paper or ink.

That’s why Flashcards are completely analog, and why Battledecks run on as little tech as possible, wrapped in protective charms and fail-safes. Even then, they're not entirely safe from ghosts haunting them. If you've ever seen what happened during the Pandormonium incident ... Well, best not to leave your Battledeck unattended.

Each Set Tells a Story

Each set of Super Battle Mon is designed around a story. As a whole, Super Battle Mon tells the story of the fledgling Rangers Chris and Kit as they travel the world catching and learning about Super Battle Mon.

Super Battle Mon: Base Set

Their Journey Begins

Kit and Chris are childhood friends who grew up together in Beanleaf Town. They decided to pair up, because, as everyone knows, it’s dangerous to go alone. Together they were ready to venture forth and discover the world around them.

Kit is a thoughtful planner, who’s always prepared. Growing up, she worked in her family’s coffee shop and learned many skills to help keep it running. She started her journey with her coffee cats that she met along the way.

Chris is a man of action. He hits hard with intense focus. He grew up on the the Rawrizard Ranch naturally started with his Glimmer Rawrizard named Majestic. Training every day, Chris wakes up early to go for a run and enjoy the fresh morning air.

Before leaving home, they went to the shop to buy their Battledecks. Each was expensive and keep all of their Mon safe, so they knew they had to treat them well and never lose them.

Now that Chris and Kit are ready they say their goodbyes and head to the Beanleaf Ranger Station.

Goodbye Beanleaf Town

Kit and Chris arrived at the Beanleaf Ranger Station first thing in the morning on the first day of their adventure together. The Ranger Station is a place for Ranger to register and prepare for travel.

After passing the written test and practical, both Kit and Chris were awarded their Ranger Badges. Ready to explore the Mezzanine Province, Kit and Chris’s next stop was the Battle Mon Sanctuary run by Dr. Quentin, a Super Battle Mon researcher who studies the biology and ecology of Super Battle Mon.

After a short train ride from Beanleaf town, they arrived and met with Dr. Quentin.

“So Doctor, what advice do you have for us?” asked Kit exited to learn from the master.

“Before you challenge your first Battle Master, seek out Super Battle Mon to build your team. It’s not about choosing the strongest Mon, it’s about choosing the ones you work best with.” he said.

Chris took that to heart, he was right, if you want to take problems head-on a sly Super Battle Mon wouldn’t do. But if you need finesse, brute strength won’t work.

“Got it, we’ll need to find what works for us!” Kit said excitedly.

“There you have it.” finished Dr. Quentin.

With that advice, and quite a bit more, he handed Kit and Chris a hand full of Flashcards for catching Super Battle Mon.

“Before we go, let’s look for Super Battle Mon to capture at Meteor Lake” Chris said, Kit nodded in agreement.
